AB Dental has developed a new surface treatment to enhance bone formation around Ti-based implants and improve implant osseointegration. This novel surface uses physical and chemical modification methods to create a highly consistent microroughened surface needed to stimulate bone formation around the implant.
AB Dental implants undergo a special treatment starting with RBM (Resorbable Blast Media) blasting with Biological Calcium-Phosphate particles for surface roughening and followed by several thermal acid etching treatments to enhance the implant surface and provide it the perfect roughness and microstructure. The final, highly clean, free of contaminates, biological surface with a high surface area provides direct
attachment of the bone to the implant and promotes fast and optimal Osseointegration.
Next, the implants are sterilized by Gamma irradiation to ensure optimal clinical success for patients.
A Morphological scanning electron microscopy of the novel biomimetic surface at the macro, micro, and nanoscale show complex roughness at all different levels including Nano roughness (Figure 1).
