Implant-supported titanium milled bar Over-dentures

Prof. Eli Raviv

A 54 year-old male patient, came to the clinic with a main concern: “My teeth are loose, I can not eat”.

Medical history: controlled diabetes type II.

Intra-oral and radiographic examination revealed a partially edentulous patient with Severe, Generalized Adult Type Periodontitis.

Treatment rendered:

  1. Full mouth extractions.
  2. Immediate complete upper and lower dentures.
  3. Four months post extractions:

Re-evaluation and assessment of bone volume and quality for implants placement.

Ten endosseous implants were placed in a single stage protocol (six in the maxilla and four in the anterior mandible).

  1. Upper and lower titanium alloy milled bars (Bio-Cad, Nobel Bio-care*) where fabricated.
  2. Pick-up, open tray impressions were taken.
  3. Upper and lower milled bars were fabricated.

Implant supported over-dentures were constructed and delivered.

One year follow-up revealed an extremely happy patient, no deterioration of the bars or prostheses.
