9-year follow-up of lower+upper implants

Prof. Eli Raviv

A 55-year-old male, generally healthy, no allergies, not taking medications.

The patient’s main concern was: “I am missing teeth and I don’t like my upper partial denture”.

Clinical extra oral examination revealed no significant finding.

Intra oral examination:

  1. Partial anodontia
  2. Defective upper cast removable partial denture
  3. Uneven plan of occlusion – lower teeth

Radiographic examination revealed slight general bone loss.

Diagnosis:

  1. Generalized, moderate, adult type periodontitis
  2. Partial anodontia
  3. Loss of posterior occlusal support
  4. Gingival recession

Treatment plan:

  1. Endosseous implants in the partially edentulous maxilla and mandible.
  2. 4-6 months later: Upper and lower, implant retained, fixed partial denture.
